Group Travel
Your group can experience the beauty of the Adirondacks, New York, from a unique perspective: immersed in the sounds, sights, scents, textures and tastes of a local forest or river.
GROUP TRAVEL
Our guided sensory tours allow you to slow down and get up close to nature on these carefully crafted experiences, rekindling your sense of playfulness and awe for nature.
Unforgettable Adirondack memories for all!
Our guided experiences are inspired by the Japanese wellness practice of Shinrin-Yoku. More than 30 years of research have shown that nature sensory practice reduces anxiety and stress, boosts our immune system and improves sleep.
EXPERIENCES
Forest Bathing is a guided forest exploration on gentle terrain, accessible to everyone spring, summer and fall. We choose quiet scenic trails. Every season has its unique beauty to be discovered.
We believe that nature is for everyone. We offer Accessible Forest Bathing programs suitable for people with functional or developmental disabilities on a trail that is accessible for manual and motorized wheelchairs. The distance covered is adapted to the needs of the group and can be as little as 1/8 of a mile without reducing the richness of the experience in any way.
Sensory Snowshoeing is a winter version of Forest Bathing, an exploration of the magic of the snowy winter landscapes of an Adirondack forest. Tours includes snowshoes; no experience is necessary. A few minutes is all that’s needed to learn to use snowshoes. The terrain is gentle, accessible to everyone.
Riverwalking is a one-of-a-kind experience, unique to the Lake Placid area. We stay dry with fishing waders and wading boots, as we wade and explore the scenic Ausable River. This tour requires basic strength and balance.
Forest Bathing and Sensory Snowshoeing have the option of adding an informal home practice workshop for clients who would like to add a wellness learning component to their guided experience. Each participant receives a card with home practice ideas and health benefit reminders.

“When I’m outdoors I’m always naming things, it’s always about what I know. I realized on this Forest Bathing walk that I don’t need to know. I can be in nature without knowing.”
“In nature, a child finds freedom, fantasy and privacy; a place distant from the adult world, a separate peace.”
